I hope everyone is having a nice relaxing weekend. We are finally having some good weather :) Our last class we went over adding with 2- digits, I know some students were still a little confused about "carrying over" the number. I will provide some step by step assistance in order to insure everyone understands.
The best way is using base ten blocks they will help you remember thousands, hundreds, tens and ones.
Here we have the tens column and the ones column dived up to show you. This problem does not require carry over its just adding the numbers. So you would add 6+2 in the ones column first and then 2+1 in the tens column to find your total sum. Give it a try!!
If that is too easy try solving this equation

+ 1 9

Begin with the right side which is the ones column add 9+9.
** Remember to carry over to the ones side**
The add the tens column 2+1.
